Steve Switzer, CIM®

Steve Switzer

I began my career in the financial industry as an Investment Advisor with an independent brokerage firm in 2007. I eventually earned my CIM® designation in order to become a Portfolio Manager, so that I could manage my clients’ assets on a discretionary basis, just as I do for myself and my family. This profession has become both my passion and my life’s work.

I have been married to my wife Jackie for just over three decades. In 2015, we moved to Fort Saskatchewan and love the small town charm. We enjoy travelling, golfing, and watching Canada’s favourite game: hockey. Our daughter, Carly, graduated with her business marketing degree and has since started to work with our team at Switzer Financial Services. My newest joy is our two puppies, who are full of energy and so much fun!

I am also very intent on giving back to the community and am very proud of this initiative; you can learn more about our efforts here.

As an Oilers fan who tries to get out to as many games as I possibly can every season, I have grown to tolerate Canadiens fans (my second favourite team) and even Canucks. But as for the Bruins, Leafs, and Flames…I’ll just leave that alone!

I’ve been working at Switzer Financial for eight and a half years. I love working here because of all the wonderful relationships I have built with our clients. Many of these folks have become like family, and a day doesn’t go by where I don’t get a thank you or a hug from my extended Switzer Financial family.

I’m the proud mother of two young men that I’m watching grow into fine adults that I’m ready to have out of the house any day (hint hint). I have lived in Fort Saskatchewan since 1986 and have been happily married to my husband Devin for twenty-six years. I enjoy yoga, walking my little Doodle dog Winter, and the occasional margarita.

I’ve been an Oilers fan since I was a kid – hockey is a religion in our family. As an avid fan, I’m always watching on tv or at the game to watch my favorite player, The Nuge!

Claus Mueller

Working as an engineer in the energy industry in Alberta for twenty-eight years has given me an appreciation of the challenges people face in Fort Saskatchewan. My goal as part of the Switzer Financial team is to bring the same great level of service to our clients as I would expect myself.

My wife Sandra and I have been lucky to call Fort Saskatchewan home for close to thirty years and we enjoy supporting our great community. We like to spend our spare time scuba-diving, camping, paddling, hiking and exploring new places. I keep active by walking our dog Sadie, and enjoy playing local hockey and slow-pitch.

I’m an Oilers fan from the early days and continue to loudly cheer them on.

I began working with my Dad, Steve, and the team back in 2022. I enjoy every second of learning the business and meeting all of our amazing clients. Every day brings a new lesson, and I’m eager to follow in my Dad’s footsteps as he continues to guide me.

I graduated from MacEwan University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a major in marketing. I have been very fortunate to travel the world, and my bucket list continues to grow daily. We recently got two new Aussiedoodle puppies, Daisy and Duke, who never fail to keep me busy and smiling!

I’m a loyal Oilers fan, and have to live with myself everyday knowing I’m dating a Flames fan. It makes that rivalry even more fun!
